Importing and Exporting GM Vehicles

Vintage Vehicle Services Inc. is the only entity authorized by General Motors to prepare this documentation on their behalf. The documentation is completed on General Motors letterhead.

Whether importing a vehicle from the U.S.A. or exporting a North American built GM vehicle to the U.S. or overseas, we can prepare the paperwork required to get you through the customs process.

Importing GM Vehicles into Canada

For GM vehicles being imported into Canada, we prepare the Recall Clearance Letter required by Transport Canada and the Registrar of Imported Vehicles (RIV). We electronically forward your information to the RIV on a daily basis to help expedite your importation process. In order for us to prepare the documentation please fill out the following Request for Recall Clearance Letter form and fax it to us at the number on the bottom of the form. This form may be filled out within Acrobat Reader. Once we receive the form your request will be processed within one business day.

Exporting GM Vehicles into the U.S.

For personal vehicles imported to the U.S. we prepare compliance documents for EPA (emissions) and DOT (safety) requirements necessary to present to U.S. Customs to get you effortlessly through the importation process. In order for us to prepare the documentation please fill out the following Request for EPA/DOT Compliance Letter form and fax it to us at the number on the bottom of the form. Once we receive the form your request will be processed within one business day. Please note some vehicles may require another form, we will contact you if that is necessary.

Exporting GM Vehicles Overseas

For vehicles exported overseas we prepare the detailed Technical Data Sheet (TDS) specific to your vehicle as required by the local Authorities. This information is different for individual countries and the data provided is as required for the country of importation. In order for us to prepare the documentation please fill out the following Request for International Data Letter form and fax it to us at the number on the bottom of the form. For vehicles older than 9 years please contact us in order for us to send you the appropriate form.
